Enthused by the successful launch of the GSLV D-5 , ISRO today announced that it has revamped it’s website and launched an upgraded version of it’s main portal http://www.isro.org
ISRO’s new website
The new website is responsive and has been designed to ensure it displays correctly on both desktop and mobile browsers. The previous version of the website was not displaying correctly on mobile browsers and ISRO had received a lot of complaints with regard to it’s non accessibility on mobiles.
The website now has six distinct sections named
The website has also been updated with more comprehensive information about ISRO’s upcoming projects in India and in collaboration with universities and space agencies all over the world.
An interesting new feature is the time-line section and the high resolution images provided for free public use.
Scope For Improvement
While the relaunched website is a step in the right direction , ISRO is still millions of miles behind NASA which has one of the best website bringing together academics, scientists and the general public together.
ISRO should also consider launching a public science project in which Indian citizens and students could participate like the zoo-universe project.
The new website also features a detailed and comprehensive overview of the various payloads and spacecraft launched by ISRO over the years.
